First Images of Cone Mosaic in Human Eye

Images: First Images of Cone Mosaic in Human Eye

Caption: These two images illustrate the effect of Adaptive Optics in imaging the cones or photoreceptors in a living human retina. These represent the first images isolating these cones. Theses studies will provide a tool for measuring and understanding the human eye with enormous benefit for both research and diagnosis of eye diseases.
