Nanotechnology Symposium to Be Webcast: Showcase for Tools, Research, and Vast Potential of "Small Wonders"The National Science Foundation (NSF) will host leading researchers March 19 at "Small Wonders," a symposium and exhibition of nanoscale science and engineering. NSF Director Rita Colwell will review the increasing role of NSF investments. Live, streamed video of portions of the event will be accessible via the Internet. Key features will include: speakers from 9 a.m.-10:00 a.m.; issues and implications panel from 3:45-5:30 p.m. Please see: http://www.nsf.gov/od/lpa/priority/nano/nano_live.htm. Among the advancements to be demonstrated: NanoManÔ, a giant instrument for very-small-scale atomic manipulation and lithography; hands-on education kits that feature magnets and LEDs; interactive experiments; and progress in research ranging from nano-electronics to new materials to biosensors.
