Change to the FY 2017 Full Proposal Submission Deadline for the NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) Program

December 20, 2016

Dear Colleague:

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has changed the FY 2017 deadline date for the submission of full proposals to the National Science Foundation Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) Program. The new full proposal deadline date is March 29, 2017, and appears in the S-STEM Program Solicitation (NSF 17-527) that was published on December 5, 2016. One reason the submission deadline for S-STEM proposals changed was to maintain a processing schedule similar to those in prior years despite NSF's relocation to Alexandria, Virginia in late summer 2017.

Information about the S-STEM Program may be found at the program's home page, at https://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=5257.

The primary goal of the S-STEM Program is to increase the recruitment, retention, student success, and graduation (including student transfer) of low-income academically talented students with demonstrated financial need who are pursing associate, baccalaureate, or graduate degrees in STEM and entry into the STEM workforce or graduate study in STEM.

Principal investigators interested in submitting proposals may contact one of the program officers on the S-STEM program leadership team.

Sincerely,

Joan Ferrini-Mundy
