Anand Desai joined the Office of Integrative Activities in June, 2015 as the Section Head of Evaluation and Assessment Capability. He came to NSF from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at Ohio State University. He was at Ohio State as assistant, associate, and full professor of public policy analysis and management, where he taught courses on evaluation research, information systems, logic of inquiry, policy modeling, simulation, statistics, and wicked problems. His research interests include evaluation methods and measurement of performance in complex systems. He studied mathematics, mathematical statistics, and operations research at Delhi, Leicester, and Cambridge universities before obtaining his PhD in public policy analysis at the University of Pennsylvania.
