Future of Work at the Human-Technology Frontier: Core Research (FW-HTF)


Alexandra Medina-Borja has concentrated her work in areas related to the effective design and analysis of smart service delivery systems. Dr. Medina-Borja started a rotation at the National Science Foundation (NSF) in Arlington, VA in 2012 at the Directorate for Engineering, and became the founding Interim Head of Evaluation and Assessment capability for the whole agency (until 2015). Alexandra acted as Cognizant Program Officer for engineering smart service systems initiatives.  Until 2017 Dr. Medina-Borja was the managing program officer for the Partnerships for Innovation, Building Innovation Capacity Program with a focus on Smart Service Systems. She is now a Lead Program Officer in the Engineering Cluster of DUE where she was appointed Executive Secretary for the Sub-Committee of STEM Education of the Future of the EHR Advisory Board. Dr. Medina-Borja also manages the organization of the STEM Education 2026 and beyond initiative, a national conversation about the future of STEM Education in the country. She is also part of the inaugural group of program officers that spearheaded the Future of Work at the Human-Technology Frontier core research program since 2016.
