Engineering Science Analyst

Biography:

Dr. Nash joined NSF as an Engineering Science Analyst in January 2017. Before that he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Smithsonian Institution, where he researched the history of twentieth century evolutionary biology and conservation ecology. Dr. Nash received his Ph.D. in the History of Science and Technology from Johns Hopkins University in 2016. His doctoral research focused on the history of behavioral biology and the problem of animal cognition and consciousness across the twentieth century. As a data scientist at NSF, Dr. Nash conducts qualitative and quantitative research on the ECCS portfolio, and assists in identifying new areas of emerging science and engineering that are of national importance. He is also a co-lead on the interdivisional Data and Analytics Group within the Directorate for Engineering.
