Born and raised in a small town in northern Wisconsin, Susanna Ehlers graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with an undergraduate degree in Physical Geography before earning her Master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her first job was with the USDA Forest Service in Albuquerque, New Mexico, working on air quality and chasing wildfire smoke. Most recently, Susanna had been contracting with the Department of Defense at Fort Belvoir, Virginia as an air quality scientist. Susanna is eager to return to Federal service with the National Science Foundation and looks forward to broadening the scope of her career beyond air quality and getting back to her roots in the Geosciences. When she's not at work, you can find Susanna bicycling all over town, dancing at live music shows, and watching baseball.
