Simona L. Gilbert has served in various administrative positions at the National Science Foundation (NSF). She began her NSF career in the Office of Polar Programs (OPP) in May 1992 as a program assistant for one of the NSF's global change programs. From August of 1997 until October of 1999, Ms. Gilbert served as the Arctic Coordination Specialist in OPP. Ms. Gilbert was selected to serve as the Administrative Manager in the Office of International Science and Engineering (OISE) from October 1999 until May 2002. From May 2002 - November, 2009, Ms. Gilbert was the administrative manager in the Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR). Ms. Gilbert served as the Administrative Manager (2010-2013) and Staff Associate for Operations (2013-2016) in the Office of Integrative Activities (OIA). Ms. Gilbert held the position as Staff Associate for Budget in the Office of International Programs from July 2016 - April 2019. She is currently the Directorate Operations Officer in the Directorate for Geosciences, Office of the Assistant Director. She is a graduate of Strayer University with a B.A. in Business Administration, and a Master's in Education Administration.
