Government Operations Funded Through March 4, 2011

January 3, 2011

The President has signed into law legislation to continue funding the operations of the federal government. On Dec. 21, the House of Representatives approved and sent to the President the latest continuing resolution (CR); this one keeps the government operating until March 4, 2011. The House vote was 193 to 165. The Senate also passed the resolution, by a 79-to-16 vote.

Under the CR, most agencies, including NSF, are funded at the FY 2010 enacted level. For NSF, the FY 2010 enacted level is $6.926 billion. The President's FY 2011 budget request for NSF was $7.424 billion, which was an increase of 8 percent over the FY 2010 enacted level.
