Archival NEON Environmental Assessment Information

Environmental Assessment

NSF announces the availability of the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) Environmental Assessment. The EA addresses the environmental and socioeconomic impacts of implementing NEON.

The EA was available for public review and comment on the internet for a period of 30 days beginning August 30, 2009.  The EA is available for review at the following public libraries: Arlington Public Library, 2100 Clarendon Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22201 and the Boulder Public Library, 1001 Arapahoe Avenue, Boulder, CO 80302.

Two public meetings were conducted to provide information regarding this proposed project. These meetings were available via internet webcast and occurred on September 15, 2009 at the National Science Foundation located at 4201 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, VA and September 17, 2009 at NEON, Inc. Headquarters Office located at 5340 Airport Boulevard in Boulder, Colorado.
