What's Showing: OIA Multimedia
  • President Obama awarded nine National Medals of Science at a White House ceremony on October 7. The medals, administered by NSF's Office of Integrative Activities, recognize outstanding contributions to science and engineering.  Video

  • The NSF Science and Technology Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheet Data, an OIA-funded center at Kansas University, has developed an unmanned aircraft that will enhance scientists' ability to gather data in treacherous icy terrain.  Improved data on ice sheet thickness and conditions will advance global climate research.

  • SUPER Cruise Plastics in the Pacific: NSF Science and Technology Center cruises the ocean studying the potential impact of floating plastic waste on the oxygen and carbon dioxide cycles--and, ultimately, the planet's climate.

  • Senator Daniel K. Inouye joined NSF at the University of Hawaii-Manoa to break ground for a $22-million building to house labs and offices of the NSF Science and Technology Center for Microbial Oceanography Research and Education (C-MORE).  C-MORE is one of 17 centers nationwide, and the only one in Hawaii.
