Dear Colleague Letter

Wiki for Advancing Digitization of Biological Collections (ADBC) collaboration

Directorate for Biological Sciences
Office of the Assistant Director

October 18, 2010

The Directorate for Biological Sciences recognizes the need to facilitate communication among diverse principal investigators, especially for new, highly collaborative programs such as Advancing Digitization of Biological Collections (ADBC). The solicitation and Frequently Asked Questions may be found at:
https://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=503559&org=BIO&from=home.

Accordingly, NSF intends to use a Wiki, a social networking vehicle, to facilitate and increase the number of collaborations among potential principal investigators in developing their proposals for this competition. On the Wiki, researchers, collection managers and others will be able to briefly describe their expertise and interest in developing collaborative proposals.

The Wiki is accessible at: https://extwiki.nsf.gov/x/FQB1. First-time users must register for an account. Once registered, users will be directed to the main page of the Wiki, where you must accept the terms and conditions before proceeding. Additional guidance for use will be available on the wiki.

Questions regarding the ADBC solicitation, FAQs or Wiki should be sent by e-mail to biodigit@nsf.gov.

Sincerely,

Joann P. Roskoski
Assistant Director for Biological Sciences (Acting)
