Scaling up Chinese hamster ovary cells using a process-controlled bioreactor

A biomanufacturing student enrolled in a Northeast Biomanufacturing Center and Collaborative (NBC2) program scales up Chinese hamster ovary cells using a process-controlled bioreactor.

Supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation's Advanced Technological Education program, NBC2 seeks to coordinate local and regional efforts into a national biomanufacturing education and training system to promote, create and sustain a qualified workforce. It does this by convening bioeconomy workforce roundtables that nurture biomanufacturing career pathways; facilitating partnerships between educators, employers and organizations to provide a skilled biomanufacturing workforce; and providing hands-on education using biomanufacturing industry equipment, processes and current good manufacturing practices.
