Natural quasicrystals may be the result of collisions between objects in the asteroid belt

An experiment led by Paul Asimow and a team at the California Institute of Technology demonstrates that natural quasicrystals may have been formed by high-energy shocks between objects in the asteroid belt.Full StorySource
