Domain expertise:

Primary discipline-content area is chemistry with specialization in chemistry education research.  Research interests in visualization in chemistry have involved the development and validation of a visual-perceptual assessment tool,  development of chemistry experiments for the visually-impaired, phenomenological studies for electrochemistry instruction, physical models to promote visual-spatial skills in inorganic contexts, and analogical transfer from the macro to the nanoscale. In addition, active learning strategies in the undergraduate curriculum have been the springboard to studies on student performance and attitudinal impact of such formats in chemistry instruction.
