Global warming has increased risk of record heat, say Stanford scientists

Researchers calculate that intense heat like that in the summer of 2012 is up to four times more likely to occur now than in pre-industrial America, when there was much less carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.Full StorySource

The U.S. National Science Foundation propels the nation forward by advancing fundamental research in all fields of science and engineering.
