As announced in July 2025, the U.S. National Science Foundation Security, Privacy, and Trust Cyberspace (NSF SaTC) program remains active; however, it has paused the acceptance of the NSF SaTC EDU proposal designation and education-related proposals. Researchers interested in education-focused projects are encouraged to consider the following NSF opportunities:

  • NSF Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Education Innovation and Scholarship for Service (NSF CyberAI SFS). This program supports scholarships and educational innovations that integrate AI and cybersecurity training.
    • Scholarship Track: Provides funding to support scholarships for students who commit to post-graduation employment in AI or cybersecurity missions within government organizations for a period at least equal to the length of the scholarship.
      Awards of up to $2,500,000.
    • Innovation Track: Supports transformative educational initiatives in AI, cybersecurity or the integration of both fields across educational levels.
      Awards of up to $500,000.
    • For more information, please contact the NSF CyberAI SFS program team at sfs@nsf.gov.
  • NSF Computing Education Research (NSF CER) program. NSF CER supports transformative projects that inform the understanding of the effective teaching and learning of computing and AI at all levels.
