Mid-Career Advancement Program Virtual Office Hour

About the event

Join Program Directors from U.S. National Science Foundation Biological Sciences (NSF BIO), STEM Education (NSF EDU), Geosciences (NSF GEO), and Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (NSF SBE) directorates as they provide an overview of the Mid-Career Advancement (NSF MCA) program (NSF 22-603), answer your questions, and recommend how to approach writing a strong NSF MCA proposal.

What is MCA? The MCA program provides protected time, resources, and the means to gain new skills through synergistic and mutually beneficial partnerships to substantively enhance and advance the research program and career trajectory of mid-career scientists and engineers.

Who should attend? Prospective principal investigators, department chairs, and research officers.

Who can apply?

  • Associate professors (or equivalent) who have been at associate rank for at least 3 years.
  • Researchers at the full professor rank (or equivalent) at primarily undergraduate institutions submitting to NSF BIO or NSF GEO.
