About the event
The U.S. National Science Foundation Directorate for Mathematical and Physical Sciences (NSF MPS) supports multiple research programs at the frontiers of discovery in theoretical and applied mathematical sciences.
NSF MPS will host an informational webinar for the U.S. mathematical sciences research community. All members of the mathematics research community are encouraged to attend.
MPS leaders and staff will discuss NSF funding opportunities supporting the mathematical sciences.
The event will focus on the MPS Mathematical Sciences Research Programs (NSF 26-520) funding opportunity, which covers more than a dozen programs, including the core disciplinary research programs in the mathematical sciences.
The event will include a Q&A session with MPS staff.
The event will also cover the following topics and programs:
- Program target dates.
- Ongoing funding opportunities in the mathematical sciences, new initiatives, and Dear Colleague Letters.
- NSF's frontier initiatives announced Sept. 10.
- Use of artificial intelligence tools for research and proposal preparation.
- Proposal submission guidelines and guidance on using research.gov.
