Revolutionizing Engineering Departments Planning Grants Webinar

About this event

NSF will hold an informational webinar at 2:00 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, about the Revolutionizing Engineering Departments (RED) program (NSF 24-564), with a focus on planning grants (Track 1). RED planning grant proposals are due April 8, 2025.

The RED program supports fundamental changes to the training of undergraduate engineering students, focusing on the second and third years, that equip them with the technical and professional skills needed to solve complex societal problems. Planning grants are two-year planning projects up to $75,000 per year to help prepare institutions to subsequently apply for RED Track 2, 3, or 4 grants.

During the webinar, NSF program officers from the Directorate for Engineering Division of Engineering Education and Centers and the Directorate for STEM Education Division of Undergraduate Education will:

  • describe the RED solicitation and review criteria,
  • describe some common mistakes, and
  • share some best practices.

The RED solicitation overview will be recorded and distributed to those who register to attend. A Q&A will be available to those who attend live. Please send questions in advance to eer-programs@nsf.gov

UPDATE: Webinar recording and slides are now available.
