The Integrative Activities in Physics (IAP) program seeks to:
Expand impact by fostering interdisciplinary activities that advance the domains supported by MPS Physics;
Promote the development of the next-generation workforce that will make, use, and translate physics discoveries into societal outcomes;
Identify and support new and emerging areas of foundational physics research that have potential for high pay-off.
IAP also supports activities in conjunction with NSF-wide programs such as Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) and Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU). CAREER and REU proposals must be submitted through the NSF-wide CAREER and REU funding opportunities.
Research regularly supported through other MPS Physics programs or the NSF Directorate for STEM Education are not eligible for consideration by the IAP program.
