Publication of the USAP report based on findings from the Sexual Assault and Harassment Climate Survey
The U.S. National Science Foundation is committed to fostering and maintaining a culture free from sexual violence wherever NSF-funded activities are conducted, including in Antarctica. As part of the Foundation’s steadfast commitment to create a safe U.S. Antarctic Program (USAP), NSF commissioned a Sexual Assault and Harassment Climate Survey (SAHCS). NSF launched the USAP SAHCS in May 2024 to gather data to support the NSF Sexual Assault and Harassment Prevention and Response program office's efforts for the USAP. The voluntary survey was open from May through July 2024 and was sent to USAP community members deployed between 2022 and 2024.
Today, NSF is pleased to announce the publication of the Report Based on Findings from the USAP SAHCS. The report provides a comprehensive analysis of the challenges and strengths within the USAP workplace environment and will inform ongoing efforts to strengthen prevention, response, and support.
