National Radio Dynamic Zones community meeting recordings now available

In December 2024, the U.S. National Science Foundation Spectrum Innovation Initiative: National Radio Dynamic Zones program (NSF SII-NRDZ) held its fifth public meeting to share updates from the research community. Videos of the presentations are now available below. For descriptions of the presentations contained within each video, please see the detailed meeting agenda (PDF).

NSF held the fifth community open meeting (NRDZCOM5) of the Spectrum Innovation Initiative-National Radio Dynamic Zones program (SII-NRDZ) on December 10-11, 2024. This is a recording of the sessions held the afternoon of the second day. The recording includes a briefing on the National Spectrum Research and Development Plan and outbriefs from breakout session discussions on spectrum sharing in the 7-8 GHz band.

As part of NSF Spectrum Management and Innovation activities, SII-NRDZ seeks to advance the use of dynamic spectrum sharing. The unifying concept investigated in SII-NRDZ is the radio dynamic zone: an area or volume with automatic spectrum management mechanisms that control electromagnetic energy entering, escaping or occupying the zone. SII-NRDZ seeks to perform extended (six to 12 month) field trials of various types of radio dynamic zone spectrum sharing at sites where the field trials will enhance spectrum access for facilities or applications.
