Tabbetha Dobbins is the dean of the School of Graduate Studies at Rowan University. She is also a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Rowan University. Her degrees include a bachelor's in physics from Lincoln University, a master's in materials science and engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate in materials science and engineering from Penn State University. She was a National Research Council Post-doctoral Fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology within the Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory. Her research has focused on the areas of synchrotron X-ray and neutron studies for understanding reaction mechanisms in metal hydrides.

Dobbins is a recipient of the Penn State University Alumni Achievement Award in 2007. She is a 2009 recipient of the U.S. National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development award. She served on the American Physical Society Forum on International Physics from 2017 to 2024.
