About the series
The NSF PESOSE program is a new funding opportunity from the NSF Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships that combines the former Pathways to Enable Open-Source Ecosystems and Safety, Security, and Privacy of Open-Source Ecosystems programs.
The PESOSE program helps translate open-source research products, including software, hardware, machine learning models, languages and data platforms, into safe and sustainable ecosystems that address national and societal challenges. The program also promotes strong governance, collaborative development and broad engagement across academia, industry and government. Additionally, the program aims to enhance the safety, security, and privacy of open-source ecosystems by addressing key vulnerabilities and improving resilience against threats.
Over the course of three webinars, an NSF program director will introduce the program, explain its goals and eligibility requirements, answer questions, and outline the application process. The first webinar session will include a formal presentation followed by a moderated Q&A. A second session will be devoted primarily to open Q&A, giving participants plenty of time to ask their specific concerns. The final session will focus on the application process itself and walk attendees through what to expect.
