Archiving the NSF Instrumentation and Facilities solicitation
The U.S. National Science Foundation Division of Earth Sciences (NSF EAR) is archiving the NSF Instrumentation and Facilities program solicitation (NSF 22-577) while it sets up a new process for supporting research infrastructure.
If you have submitted a proposal and it has not been through NSF merit review, you will be contacted by the cognizant program officer. Existing awards are not impacted by this archiving.
The division recognizes the importance of the research infrastructure supported under this solicitation, including equipment acquisition/upgrade, instrument and technique development, laboratory technician support, and community facilities that provide access to highly specialized instrumentation and expertise.
We are working towards mechanisms to support these foundational capabilities under a successor opportunity. In the interim, please contact your cognizant NSF EAR program officer or EARIF@nsf.gov if you have an urgent question relating to physical research infrastructure.
