Castle Rock in winter

This photo of Castle Rock, a natural geologic landmark near McMurdo Station in Antarctica, was taken in the middle of winter. In the distance behind Castle Rock is a view of McMurdo Sound and the Transantarctic Mountains with the Milky Way straddling the night sky.
