Preparing for the ubiquitous technologies of tomorrow

Flexible electronic chip bends between two fingers.

The NSF Nanosystems Engineering Research Center for Advanced Systems of Integrated Sensors and Technologies (ASSIST) designs new nano-enabled technologies to create innovative, battery-free, body-powered and wearable health-monitoring systems.

Working with industry partners, center researchers are beginning to translate their discoveries in flexible electronics, energy harvesting and storage, and nanomanufacturing into real-world applications.
