NSF CAREER Webinar on Engineering Education Research Proposals to ENG

About the event

The U.S. National Science Foundation will hold an informational webinar at 4 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, about the NSF Faculty Early Career Development (NSF CAREER) program solicitation NSF 22-586, specifically relating to engineering education research-specific NSF CAREER proposals submitted to the NSF Directorate for Engineering (NSF ENG).

About the Program
The agencywide NSF CAREER program supports early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in their department's or organization's mission. Activities pursued by early-career faculty should build a firm foundation for a lifetime of leadership in integrating education and research.

CAREER proposals submitted to the NSF ENG Engineering Education Research program should focus on educational research questions relating to the professional formation of engineers (PFE), and have educational plans focused on putting those research results into practice. (PD 26-1341 describes PFE further.)

CAREER proposals are due July 22, 2026.

About the webinar
Program officers from the ENG Engineering Education and Centers section will discuss key goals of the program and solicitation requirements as they relate to engineering education research and some best practices, and they will host a question-and-answer session. Please review the CAREER program solicitation and FAQs prior to the webinar.

Register for the June 16 CAREER webinar for engineering education research.
