A device from Prescient Surgical that combines self-retaining retraction, barrier-wound protection and continuous wound-edge irrigation could aid in the prevention of wound-edge contamination during abdominal surgical procedures. More than 20 NSF-funded projects will exhibit in a space dedicated to early stage companies with emerging biomedical technologies.
