Cyber, Physical and Intelligent Systems

The U.S. National Science Foundation Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (NSF CISE) supports foundational research that enables novel intelligent technologies to operate safely and reliably across physical, digital and human environments.

This includes research in robotics, cyber-physical systems, and security, privacy and trust in cyberspace. NSF CISE also supports efforts to strengthen cybersecurity, security and trustworthiness of emerging technologies and to foster research infrastructure, public safety, economic competitiveness and national security.
